Naked Geometry is art and jewelry inspired by mathematics and nature. All of our woodwork is created in Pittsburgh community maker-spaces from sustainable materials, using a combination of laser cutting and traditional craft. The hardwood we use is either reclaimed, dead-fall, or ethically sourced. The plywood we use is LEED, F.S.C.-certified or better. Our findings and chains are nickel-free. Our cords are waxed cotton. All geometric art and design is created in-house by a small team of eccentrics.

I made this original geometry for an Egyptian friend. He was returning from two revolutions in Egypt, and wanted to make a gift for his mother. I made a screen of this shape with some words in Arabic he wrote for her. The geometry for that custom piece has been very popular, so I’m offering it as a smaller piece, approximately 10 inches wide, in laser-etched and laser-cut 1/4 inch thick 3-ply birch. Every line is woven with every other line, forming a variety of loops, paths and weavings to meditate upon. The seven sided symmetry contains pentagons, heptagons, tetradecagons and irregular polygons.
Thickness: 1/4 inch
Dimensions: ~10″ x 10″
