Naked Geometry is art and jewelry inspired by mathematics and nature. All of our woodwork is created in Pittsburgh community maker-spaces from sustainable materials, using a combination of laser cutting and traditional craft. The hardwood we use is either reclaimed, dead-fall, or ethically sourced. The plywood we use is LEED, F.S.C.-certified or better. Our findings and chains are nickel-free. Our cords are waxed cotton. All geometric art and design is created in-house by a small team of eccentrics.
Pythagoras Tree Shadowbox
$90.00
This beautiful fractal is created from a simple triangle with an edge ratio of 3, 4, & 5. Remember A squared + B squared = C squared from school? This piece takes that relationship into infinity, creating a beautiful branching of squares. It is named for Pythagoras, who is credited with discovering this relationship (though this ratio is also found in the great pyramids of Giza 2000 years earlier.)
The tree is set into a shadowbox which hangs on walls and sits on surfaces with equal elegance. This was also the very first Naked Geometry product that branched out beyond jewelry. A classic, a meditation, a spiral to infinity.
