Julia Set Fractal Inlay Necklace

Two pieces of hardwood meticulously joined.  The Julia Set fractal is named for Gaston Julia, the early 20th-century mathematician. The real thing shows the same curve at every scale, a property called “self-similarity.” Ours is as detailed as the laser can make it.

These are made with reclaimed box elder, a bright wood with natural pink & red streaks. The box elder is set into reclaimed black walnut.
